A small patch of water

I noticed that small patch of water created from the recent rains.
I stayed as hidden possible in the car, waiting patiently. Gradually the birds started landing to drink some water. Several species appeared including Linnet (Carduelis cannabina), Greenfinch (Chloris chloris), Serin (Serinus serinus), Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala). The last but more impressive visitor was an initially hesitating Song Thrush (Turdus philomelos). Gradually “adapted” listening my continuous clicks and established by the pond. The other species maybe feeling more safe with the presence of the Thrush joined him .

A Sparrowhawk patrolled the place, but never tried to attack maybe discouraged from my presence.
