Lanius nubicus

Masked Shrike (Παρδαλοκεφαλάς) is the most difficult breeding Lanius spp to find in Greece (except Lesvos island, where it is really abundant). One year ago, late May 2011 it took me 3 days exploring the wider Kerkini area, to finally manage to find out one individual, one hour just before leaving the area !
This year it was somehow easier to observe and capture this male, on the way to Kapsalo (Evros – Dadia area). The light was harsh but for sure this series of photos was an improvement in comparison with last year.
