Sylvia atricapilla (Blackcap – Μαυροσκούφης)

Blackcap – & especially the female with its beautiful brown crown – is one of my favorite species. It has a very distinctive property among warblers & passerines on general, which is the sexual dimorphism. The male has a black crown while the female has a brown-red crown a difference that needs an explanation, the reason why the evolution had such results on this species.
