Gypetus barbatus – Γυπαετός – Bearded Vulture

My highlight observation from vacation trip at Crete.
A Bearded vulture, one of the most endangered species in Greece (only 3 pairs left, all of them at Crete) appeared all of a sudden just behind me, while i was hiking towards Kallergi refugee.
Majestic gliding for several minutes before disappearing beside the mountain slopes. Griffon vultures appeared later on, maybe because thermal updraughts are more essential for their “lazy” flight.
