Phoenicurus phoenicurus (samaniscus) was my second best observation of our birdwatching trip at Schinias last Sunday 23/3.
It is a common passage migrant, especially in autumn, but the majority of the population belongs to the subspecies phoenicurus. A small population breeds in Greece, not further south than mount Parnassos.
Beautiful plumage with a great contrast between orange versus b & w.
O Φοινίκουρος ήταν η δεύτερη πιό σημαντική μου παρατήρηση στην εξόρμηση της Κυριακής στο Σχινιά (23/3).
Είναι κοινός κατά την μετανάστευση ιδιαίτερα το φθινόπωρο, κυριώς όμως το υποείδος phoenicurus. Στην Ελλάδα φωλιάζει ένας μικρός πληθυσμός, όχι νοτιότερα από το όρος Παρνασσός.
Ομορφο φτέρωμα με υπέροχη αντίθεση μεταξύ πορτοκαλί & μ/α.
